Has it really been this long?

I haven't blogged in almost a month. I hadn't realized!

I've been pretty busy here. They're reorganizing the area of the newspaper in which I work. It doesn't appear to be affecting me yet (new bosses, but not new duties or new hours). I do feel a little anxious over the changes, because eventually it could mean the changing of my hours or days off. I lobbied long and hard a few years back for the days off I have (Sat & Sun) and the hours (11 a.m.-7 p.m.). They make me feel like I have a life and allow me to be a real dad and husband. I hope things do't change too much.

I was off for a week, coinciding with my kids having time off from school. It turned into a big home-improvement week. I built furniture for my daughter, hung drapes, put new things in my son's room, fixed (i hope) a leaky tub and got the oven running again. I'm NOT a handyman, but it feels good when I can actually fix things!
